charlotte greenwood (b. 1990) is an american painter based in colorado. her paintings draw from personal experiences in and relationship with the natural world through an abstract lens. charlotte’s work is guided by her intuition, featuring a variety of textures, creating movement and emotion through bold layering of color.

growing up outside of philadelphia and with strong family roots in the southeast, charlotte’s relationship with place has informed the different chapters of her life since she was a child. after moving from wyoming to new york city in 2014, charlotte was drawn to the contradiction and irony of our human relationship to the land we inhabit. painting elements of the natural world became her way of connecting to the earth within the concrete landscape of nyc. these dualities of lifestyle and self continue to influence the artist’s process as she deepens in relationship with the land across the united states. through her work, charlotte hopes to remind you of the raw and always present beauty of our earth.
